About us

Founded in 1991 in Bergen, Norway, Argus Remote Systems AS has grown into one of the world’s most trusted developers and manufacturers of electric Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) systems.

For more than three decades, we have pushed the boundaries of subsea technology, delivering reliable, modular, and innovative ROV solutions to industries that depend on safe and precise underwater operations.

Over 30 Years of Innovation Beneath the Surface

From our very first electric ROV to today’s advanced ultra-deep water systems rated to 6000–7000 meters, Argus has consistently led the way in subsea engineering. To date, we have delivered more than 164 complete ROV systems, including heavy-duty work class ROVs, compact inspection vehicles, and tailor-made solutions for unique missions.

Our portfolio now includes nine distinct ROV models, from the agile Worker Ultra Compact to the powerful Worker XL, designed to meet the full spectrum of offshore, aquaculture, research, and exploration demands.

Trusted Across Industries

Argus ROVs support a wide range of industries worldwide:

  • Offshore Energy – IMR and intervention tasks on platforms, pipelines, and subsea installations.

  • Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs) – remote-controlled operations reducing CO₂ emissions and HSE risks.

  • Renewables – offshore wind support including cable laying, foundation inspections, and environmental monitoring.

  • Seismic Operations – precision deployment and recovery of Ocean Bottom Nodes (OBN).

  • Aquaculture – net inspections, fish health monitoring, and anchoring with drill skids.

  • Yacht Expeditions – compact ultra-deep ROVs with 8K imaging for private and philanthropy-driven exploration.

  • Research Vessels – science-grade imaging and modular payloads for oceanographic missions worldwide.

This diversity of applications highlights our ability to adapt technology to customer needs while ensuring safe, efficient, and sustainable subsea operations.

Independent and Norwegian-Owned

Argus RS is 100% locally owned (70% by Mohn Drilling and 30% by employees). Our independence allows us to innovate rapidly, invest in long-term partnerships, and stay fully committed to the needs of our clients.

We also maintain close collaboration with universities and research institutions, contributing to projects that advance ocean science, subsea mineral exploration, and environmental monitoring.

At Argus, we believe the future of subsea operations lies in autonomy, efficiency, and sustainability. With dedicated R&D resources and a strong track record of innovation, we continue to evolve our electric ROV systems to meet the challenges of tomorrow – from offshore energy transitions to deep-sea discoveries.

For more than 30 years, we have helped shape the future of subsea technology. And we’re just getting started.
